I'm a little pumpkin

Anna has bonded with her pumpkins this fall. She has memorized a poem from one of her High Five magazines. Here it is.

I'm a little pumpkin short and round
My skin is orange and my stem is brown
Scoop out all my seeds and put in a candle in
When darkness comes just watch me grin!

Whoops! A little late here...

I didn't entirely miss taking the five month picture (though it was about a week late). I just didn't get it up on the blog. Here it is, along with today's sixth month photo.

These photos started out as an attempt to capture the girls' matching outfits. Naturally their own antics proved a much better subject.

They're on the same wavelength already. Ben and I had better watch out.

Four months

Happy four month birthday, Sophie!

Sophie has been working diligently on toe touches this week. She's going to have a foot in her mouth before she can even talk.

How to teach a sheep

Not wanting to be outdone by her baby sister, Anna had her own romp with Baa-Baa after last month's photo time.  

 That looks like an expression of triumph to me. Never fear, Sophie. Baa-Baa has been put in her place.

August 19 -- 3 months

Here we are at three months already. We're having a great time remembering all the fun discoveries at this age: fists, toes, and this time around, big sister!

Crazy about Cucumbers

Anna has recently discovered Veggie Tales. She's not terribly excited about the DVDs yet, but she adores the Bob and Larry toys I got in college--ESPECIALLY Larry! (Actually, I think Larry came from Aunt Rachel, so she deserves special mention here!)





The following are just a few of the situations I have found Larry in lately. The photos are not posed. I just walk into a room, and here is what I find:

July 19--2 month pictures

This post is a bit late, but the pictures were taken on time! Sophie is already 2 1/2 months old. Of course, we can't believe it. She continues to be as sweet as can be and is sleeping pretty well most nights. We feel very blessed to have two such wonderful little girls.

We're still working on this sitting up thing. But Anna is doing great with being a big sister. Yesterday she was looking at her own baby pictures with Ben. She kept saying, "That's Sophie's pillow. That's Sophie's shirt," etc. But she doesn't seem to mind sharing.

June 19

One month old already! We can hardly believe it.

We had her one month check up yesterday. She weighs 9 lbs, 8 oz., 21 inches long (roughly 50th percentile for both height and weight) and the doctor says she's doing great. Anna was weighed, too, and she's up to the 25th percentile, and we are thrilled with that! Sophie also slept 5 1/2 hours straight last night, so we're all pretty happy this morning.
